How Toyota key programming works
Toyota keys register through the diagnostic port. A duplicate pairs beside a working key in minutes. With every key gone, the technician pulls the code, cuts the blade on the correct G, H or 4D blank, and registers the key to the immobilizer. Some H-chip and early smart-key years first need the immobilizer reset, a longer procedure that a hardware store or a kiosk cannot do; we bring the equipment so it is finished in one visit, whether the car is in an Alafaya apartment lot or a hotel garage on I-Drive.
Things to know before you call about a Toyota
- Rental Toyotas are everywhere in Orlando. We open a rental Camry or RAV4 for the renter with ID and the rental agreement, but a new key for a rental has to be authorized by the rental company; we tell you that on the phone so you can call them first.
