Grades of hardware, plainly
Residential locks are sold in three grades. Grade 3 is the builder-grade knob and deadbolt most Orlando subdivisions were finished with; it is fine until it is not. Grade 2 is the solid mid-range most homeowners choose when replacing. Grade 1 is the heaviest, built for a door that gets hit or a front door you never want to think about again. The technician shows you the difference in hand and quotes each option, so the choice is yours.

A lock that has to be shouldered shut is not a lock problem yet, but it will be. Repair or replace, and after a break-in
Not every failing lock needs to be replaced. Should I change my locks or rekey them?
Rekey when the lock works well and you only need old keys to stop working. Change it when the lock is worn, sticking, corroded, forced, mismatched or below the security you want. The technician can do either on the same visit and quotes both.
Can you add a deadbolt to a door that only has a knob?
Yes. We bore the door and frame, install the deadbolt above the knob, reinforce the strike and key it to match your other doors. For most Orlando homes it is the single biggest security upgrade available.
Can you fix a door that does not latch instead of replacing the lock?
Usually, yes. Most doors that will not latch in Orlando have shifted with the humidity, and adjusting the strike and hinges fixes them. If the lock itself is worn, we say so and quote a replacement, but we do not sell you hardware for a door problem.
How late can you replace a lock after a break-in?
Until midnight, every day, and the price is the same flat quote it would be at noon. If it happens after midnight, secure the door as well as you can and call at 7 am; a technician is dispatched first thing.
