Car work is its own trade. It takes cutting machines for both edge-cut and laser-cut blades, programming tools that talk to each manufacturer's immobilizer, lockout tools shaped for today's tight door frames, and a stock of transponder keys and fobs for the makes Orlando actually drives. Rental cars and visitors

A large share of our automotive calls come from people who do not live here: a family locked out of a rental in a hotel garage, a convention visitor who left the key in the room, a snowbird whose only fob died at the grocery store. If you are locked out of a rental car, we open it for the renter who shows photo ID and the rental agreement. That is the same standard we hold an owner to, and it is done without damage to the car.

Making a new key for a rental car is different. The car belongs to the rental company, so a new key needs their authorization. Some companies give it on the phone; others would rather swap the car at the airport rental car center. We tell you which on the call so you do not wait on a technician who cannot help. If you are visiting and driving your own car, none of that applies; your ID and registration are enough.

Theme park, hotel and airport garages

Our vans work inside the parking garages at Walt Disney World, Universal, SeaWorld, the International Drive hotels, the Orange County Convention Center and the Mall at Millenia, and in the garages at Orlando International Airport. Tell the dispatcher the garage name, the level and the row or section painted on the pillar, and the technician will find you.

Two things help. Send the dispatcher a photo of the pillar marking or the garage sign, and stay near the car with your phone on, since the lower levels swallow signal and the technician may call from the ramp. We work from 7 am until midnight every day, so a lockout after the fireworks still gets a technician the same evening.
