Home, apartment and condo lockouts

Locked Out of Your House in Orlando? We Get You Back Inside

A technician opens your Orlando home, apartment or condo without damage, usually in about twenty minutes, after checking you live there. Door pulled shut with the keys on the table, a deadbolt that will not turn after the rain swelled the frame, a vacation rental code that stopped working: the dispatcher quotes one flat price and sends the closest van. Dispatch runs 7 am to midnight, every day.

No damage first, a new lock only when it has to be

The knobs and deadbolts on most Orlando homes, from an older College Park bungalow to a new build in Horizon West, are Kwikset, Schlage or a builder-grade equivalent, and a trained technician picks or bypasses them without leaving a mark. Drilling is a last resort for a high-security cylinder or a lock that has failed inside, and it comes with an explanation and a price before the drill comes out. If anyone tells you a standard front door has to be drilled, be suspicious.

A lock gets replaced instead of picked in a few honest cases: the cylinder is seized, the latch is broken behind the door, the hardware is so worn it will not hold a new key, or you want to move to a keypad after this. The technician shows you the problem, quotes the part, and only proceeds when you say so.

If you are locked out because a key is lost rather than left inside, the same visit can rekey every door so the missing key is dead and one new key opens everything. Ask the dispatcher and the van brings the pins.

Apartments, condos and gated communities

Apartment lockouts in MetroWest, Lake Nona, near UCF on Alafaya, or in a downtown high-rise come with extra steps: a gate code, a front desk, and a lock the landlord owns. Tell the dispatcher the community name and unit number. We work out the gate with you, get you inside, and do not alter the landlord's hardware without the leasing office's approval. If the office is closed, that is fine; opening the door for the resident is a lockout, not a lock change.

  • Bring photo ID plus a lease, a utility bill, or mail with the address
  • If your ID shows an old address, a text from your landlord or property manager works
  • Mention a child, a pet or a stove left on and the call moves to the front

Vacation rental guests locked out

A keypad that stopped taking the code at 10 pm in a Kissimmee or Davenport rental is one of the most common calls in the Orlando area. Call the host or the management company first, because a fresh code is often the fastest fix. If nobody answers, call us, and we get you inside once the owner or manager confirms you are the guest. A quick text or a call back from them is enough; the technician does not open a rental on a booking confirmation alone.

Hosts and managers who want this handled without a midnight scramble can set up a standing arrangement with us in advance. See the vacation rental page for how that works.

Questions we hear every day

What proof do you need for a house lockout?

A photo ID and one thing tying you to the address: the license itself if it matches, a lease, a deed, a utility bill or a piece of mail. Renters with an old address on their ID can show a message from the landlord. You should want a locksmith to ask; it is what keeps strangers out of your home.

Will you damage my door or lock getting in?

Almost never. Standard residential locks are picked or bypassed without a mark, and drilling is reserved for a failed or high-security lock, after you have heard why and agreed to the price. A lock gets replaced only when it is broken or you ask for an upgrade.

Can you let me into my apartment if the leasing office is closed?

Yes. Opening the door for the resident who proves they live there is a lockout, and it does not need the office. We only need the office's approval to change or rekey the landlord's lock, and we say so before doing anything beyond opening the door.

I am a guest locked out of a vacation rental. What should I do?

Call the host or property manager first; they can often push a new code in a minute. If you cannot reach them, call us. Once the owner or manager confirms you are the guest, by text or a call back, the technician opens the door. That confirmation protects the property and you.
