Ford Key Replacement in Orlando, FL

Ford trucks work the job sites in Apopka and Sanford, Ford SUVs fill the MCO rental lots, and Ford's PATS immobilizer has changed its encryption three times since 1996. We Do Locksmith carries the blades, chips and fobs for each generation and programs them at your F-150, Escape or Explorer, including all-keys-lost on the newest 128-bit trucks, with one flat price agreed on the phone before the van leaves 39th Street.

How Ford key programming works

Ford programming goes through the diagnostic port. Older PATS systems impose a timed security wait of about ten minutes before the truck accepts a key, so the technician plans for it. On 128-bit vehicles we use current equipment that handles the encryption at the vehicle, no dealer. Ford's system expects two programmed keys, so an all-keys-lost job includes cutting from code, programming two keys and erasing the lost ones. Work trucks get done at the job site so the crew keeps moving.

Things to know before you call about a Ford

  • Rental Fords from the airport are opened for the renter with ID and the rental agreement. A new key for a rental is a different matter; the rental company has to authorize it, and we tell you that on the phone.
  • An older Ford ignition wears until the key will not turn. A fresh key cut from code, not copied from the worn key, fixes that more often than people expect and costs less than an ignition repair.
  • If you are down to one working Ford key, add a second now. The system wants two keys, and a copy made beside a working key costs far less than an all-keys-lost job later.

Pricing for Ford keys

A plain Ford key is the least expensive, a 40-bit chip key a step up, a laser-cut 128-bit key or an Intelligent Access fob the most. Copies cost less than all-keys-lost. The dispatcher gives one flat price for your exact year and trim, with no service-call fee on top.

Ford key questions

Can you program a Ford key if I have no keys at all?

Yes. The technician cuts the blade from the code, programs the two keys the system expects and erases the lost ones, at your truck or SUV anywhere in Orlando.

Why does a Ford need two keys programmed?

Ford's PATS system expects two keys before it fully arms. We program both on an all-keys-lost job. If you still have one working key, adding a second lets you make more yourself later.

Do you make Intelligent Access fobs for push-button Fords?

Yes, at the vehicle, for every US model year. We confirm the frequency and button layout from your VIN so the fob we bring is the one that pairs.
